The school council is a consultative body that enables pupils’ voices to be heard, promotes active citizenship and is a link between pupils in classes and the school staff. Our councillors are elected at the start of the new academic year with children from Year 2 through to Year 6. This also provides an opportunity for pupils throughout the school to learn about democratic process such as elections and lobbying for change.
Meetings are held throughout the year and give pupils an opportunity to discuss any issues that they feel want to be raised. It also provides a great forum for gaining insights into how pupils feel about proposed changes and current practices.
The school council members are always interested in hearing new ideas to make Navigation an even better school. This includes fundraising events to make these ideas happen. You can recognise our student councillors by the golden 'School Council' badge that they wear.
